The Old Man and the Sea [2]

I am now a good ways into the book and the great old man, Santiago, has hooked an enormous marlin. The fish is so powerful that it has been pulling the old man and his little boat for quite some time. I did some back search on the book and found that it is as if the old man represents Christ suffering, and the marlin represents what men and women hope to gain, whether it is good or bad.

What I think.... I think it is a marvelous book, and don't think you can read it in one half an hour session of reading, it takes much more than that. His way of writing is amazing, and his literature skills very high.

I will comment again when I finish the book.
